Job Summary: The local driver will work throughout the project period to transport Doctors of Peace (DOP) employees, equipment, and materials to/from the office in Sinuni to/from the work site. The driver is responsible for ensuring the safety of employees and equipment during transportation. The driver plays a crucial role in the project, so they should provide safe and smooth transportation in accordance with local traffic laws and regulations. Responsibilities: • Safely operate and maintain the vehicle within the safety levels allowed by the local traffic police. • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and outside. • Provide local transportation for employees, guests, partners, ensuring their safety and comfort. • Transport equipment, supplies, and materials to and from work sites. • Safely handle equipment and tools by ensuring secure storage during transportation. • Perform routine checks and maintenance on the assigned vehicle, such as checking engine oil, fuel, and water. • The driver is responsible for vehicle maintenance costs and timely refueling. • Comply with Doctors of Peace safety procedures and code of conduct. • Report any security concerns and incidents immediately to the direct supervisor. • Adhere to safety procedures. • Assist in unloading cargo. Qualifications: • The vehicle should be a pickup truck and not less than the year 2018. • A valid (general) driver's license from the Iraqi government or the Kurdistan Regional Government. • Fluent in Kurmanji language is required, and any additional language is considered an advantage. • A high school diploma would be a plus. • Proven experience as a driver in humanitarian organizations for at least two years. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively. • Flexibility to work outside of regular hours as needed.
